Fibrous-Aquatic Bioscaffold Engineering

Ceretune designs and manufactures Fibrous Aquatic Bioscaffolds. These state-of-the-art sheets are self-buoyant, biodegradable nonwoven textile matrices integrated with specialized plant seeds. Specially engineered using advanced fiber science and textile engineering, these floating ecosystems are customized to target specific water bodies, including agricultural lagoons, municipal ponds, and industrial wastewater sites.

Grounded in our ongoing polymer and fiber science research at NC State, we continuously test and refine different nonwoven textile structures in the lab. We put every custom fiber formation through rigorous trial runs to ensure it delivers peak durability, optimal plant growth, and maximum pollutant removal for your specific body of water.

Fibrous-Aquatic Bioscaffold Installations

Ceretune handles every step of the installation process for Fibrous Aquatic Bioscaffolds (FABs) to ensure smooth deployment and rapid environmental impact. Our team conducts on-site water body evaluations to properly anchor, position, and float each custom FAB according to local water conditions. Once deployed, the pre-seeded nonwoven scaffolds immediately begin establishing root networks that actively stabilize aquatic conditions, remove excess pollutants, and foster self-sustaining ecosystems.

Through hands-on field testing and real-time performance monitoring, we continuously track water quality parameters to verify that the installed bioscaffolds meet exact ecological restoration targets.

Fibrous-Aquatic Bioscaffold Maintenance

Ceretune provides comprehensive post-installation care to ensure your Fibrous Aquatic Bioscaffolds deliver continuous, long-term water remediation. Our team performs routine field inspections to monitor structural integrity, track plant maturity, and evaluate overall root network development. We continuously test and analyze surrounding water samples to measure nutrient uptake, ensuring the bioscaffold operates at peak efficiency for targeted pollutant removal throughout its lifecycle.

As the biodegradable matrix gradually integrates into the aquatic environment, we manage seasonal maintenance, conduct necessary performance adjustments, and oversee the transition as native vegetation takes over.

Processing Biomass into Biochar

Ceretune completes the circular life cycle of Fibrous Aquatic Bioscaffolds by converting harvested plant biomass into high-grade biochar. Once the mature vegetation has extracted maximum pollutants from the water body, our team harvests the plant material and processes it through controlled pyrolysis. This thermal treatment locks captured carbon and nutrients into a stable, porous carbon matrix, permanently removing them from the aquatic ecosystem while preventing greenhouse gas release during natural decomposition.

The resulting nutrient-rich biochar is then repurposed for soil amendment, sustainable agriculture, or circular textile applications, turning aquatic waste into a valuable resource.
